This Mother's Love
This mother's love is uncompared
to any other known,
It started with you, and ever since,
it, and you, have grown.
It's far beyond the height or
depth of any star or sea,
Because this mother's love, my son,
is for your heart from me.
It goes to tiny boo-boos,
and to great big aches of pain,
For broken toys, and broken hearts,
and things we can't explain.
It goes to joys, for things we learned,
good times that we have shared,
For times, when even unspoken,
I've known that you have cared.
You've grown in years, in size,
and in the ways that make men wise,
You've grown in heart, in spirit,
and all right before my eyes.
To realize my little boy has
grown up to be a man,
Is hard for me to believe,
but in time I know I can.
On shaky legs you now walk out
into this world with fear,
Know of what's within you to bring
the love you need so near.
Remember it's the stronger man
who calls on God above,
And always know, wherever you are,
you have this mother's love.
All my love,
All my life _ and yours,
Mom
